Sam Blakelock is a NYC jazz guitarist. He has toured the US and Europe extensively and holds his Master of Music in jazz performance from the Aaron Copland School of Music, NYC.

Blakelock shares hard earned advice in humorous, easy-to-digest chunks with his students.

Originally from New Zealand, Blakelock toured the world for three years as the Music Director on luxury cruise ships.

He completed his Master's in Jazz guitar in NYC under the tuition of Lage Lund (Marie Schneider) & Paul Bollenback (Joey DeFrancesco) and now performs regularly in Brooklyn and Manhattan while maintaining a busy touring schedule abroad.

He is the mastermind behind @pickupjazz, a 190,000+ Instagram music community. His own Instagram page @samblakelock has over 58,000 fans. Over time he has developed a unique, step-by-step approach to learning jazz guitar.

Sam is VERY passionate about teaching jazz guitar. He believes learning should be fun & gradually paced.
